Program
Overview
Universidad del Desarrollo offers a unique experience for national and international students who wish to participate in a challenging summer program, that aims to give a broad perspective about how Latin America is facing the world´s most pressing social, economic and environmental issues.
This program is open to students from different backgrounds since it addresses different topics and issues like, new technologies, innovation, creativity, environment, social entrepreneurship, economy and globalization.
The Goal
Students will live an unforgettable experience that will make them more conscious about the changes and challenges we are facing as a society. We aim to educate global citizens that are aware of the problems and opportunities they are going to face throughout the next years.
We wish that this experience will serve as an engine so that this group of students become responsible and positive change agents.
Credits
The 3 week program (80 hours) has 45 contact hours of lectures, company visits and guest speakers and 35 hours of cultural activities; equivalent to 8 UDD Credits and 5 US / 3 ECTS Credits. By the end of the program students get a certificate with the obtained credits.
Modes of Delivery
Students will take part in the 3 week program, taught completely in English. Different learning approaches will be considered, which will create an intense and multi-faceted program based on evidence, practical insights and experience.
The program consider lectures, presentations, team work and company tours, a city tour in Santiago and trip to the beautiful San Pedro de Atacama. Up north, students will have the opportunity to visit the driest desert in the world and the biggest astronomical project ever made: ALMA Observatory.
